Zand (?) antique embroidered coverlet (183 x 129cm)

The embroidery has remnants of a Yazd ikat back which point point to its origin. The technique is dense and closely packed silk either unseen or very loosely spun which have left it vulnerable to friction. Some of the constituent dyes appear to have oxidised leaving only traces of the red.
