In fine wool and cotton soumak this panel would have been one side of a storage container which was shaped as a cuboid polyhedron open to the top and as in the illustration here A B Eand F. Very well woven with long staple wool to withstand utilitarian use as a luggage container for this semi nomadic group whilst on the move in and for storage domestically in southern Azarbiajan.
The edges frayed otherwise in good strong condition.
