The particularly lovely colour combination readily identifies this simple and rather heavily woven plainweave as being from the Nevşehir region in the famous Cappadocia area of Asia Minor. The pile carpets from this area also share the same colour characteristics.
The black colour has oxidised leaving gaps in the weave
