Attributed to the desert oasis Nurata region. Despite appearances, the fabric remains remarkably robust due the the very strong and compacted weaving. This weaving group was attributed as being from the Nurata Mountains north of Bukhara by V.G. Moshkova 

The antique central Asian carpet requires mounting onto a base cloth
