Uzbekistan antique shahin ikat robe lined with abr / abrbandi ikat

£ 1,200.00

The all silk shahin ikat robe is lined with a part cotton abr / abrbandi ikat and a paisley-type trade print, which firmly places it into the 19th century. Usually, all silk shahin robes are disregarded and less thought of as considered younger. Brittle as these can be, it is typical of this kind of ikat to have fold mark damage on the arms and as such, this piece has been re-enforced by careful discrete sewing. The robe is now sound and entirely supple and split free.

Adjectives are usually declined for use by us and ravishing is a word to use advisedly but this surely fits the bill...
