This brightly coloured brocade was most likely a part of ecclesiastic costume at some stage. That or the hanging from a lectern only the item seems barely used. Silk brocading worked onto damask The edges surmounted with unoxidised gilt braid. Backed with a fine green silk. In lovely fresh condition without fading or stain save for some minor abrasion.
