SOLD

30 x 20 cm

This scalloped shaped hat cames from the Dong 'minority' population of Guizhou SW China. The stamped white metal parts aparently depict protective gins or guardian entiteies and the embroidered parts deploy recognisable Buddhistic forms, although the makers are more probably anamist. Attached to the knob at the top are two bells and a stamped metal fish adorment.

NB - The framed photogrpgh shows a Dong village taken in the early 2000s and is not a part of the sale
