This beautiful deep indigo cotton robe was obtained from a Palestinian refugee camp in the 1970s. Certain decorative elements chime with a Palestinian style but the cut and shape is most definitely Syrian, possibly the result of some inter-marriage. The robe is unlined but the cloth from which it is made is fairly heavy in weight and handwoven.
