A rather stylish, if unlikely carpet to have come out of Turkey and possibly made for the European market in the late 1930s. Potentially never exported, remaining in Turkey until present day. Alternatively and rather more likely the 1970/80s work of flamboyant Turkish singer and cultural icon Zeki Müren. and inflienced by our 1980s work in turn influneced by Piet Mondian.

The carpet is bound on all four sides so without fringes - probably reduced in size. The small faults seen in the pile is some parts are not fully repaired and the carpet has been re-washed a second time,
