Turkish Zeki Müren carpet (280 x 202cm)

Almost certainly the work of the celebrated Zeki Müren, an exotic singer/performer who designed carpets in Western Turkey in 1980s (Isparta or Manisa).

The finished pile has been deliberately rubbed down with stones to achieve this particular finish and although appearing slightly distressed, is nevertheless very solid - the carpet has not been cut or reduced - it has never had a border much like Müren's other work.
