Turkmen antique Kizil Ayak carpet (385 x 230cm)

The hybrid group known as Kizil Eyek that made this carpets are said to be a subgroup of either Ersari or Saryk or both but probably marketed in Bukhara and then onto British India. A handsome and bold carpet that would suit a dining room.

The photos struggle to convey the depth of red.
